I recommend buying a float for any point and shoot camera underwater. These babies are small, but sinking fast. Before the trip, I bought a banana yellow Chums Floating waterproof camera that worked great.

Chums are the company that makes the straps that are placed on floating vessels when in a boat. First it was bright yellow so that I could find my camera in the hotel, water, or on the boat very fast. The strap is very comfortable and goes around your wrist with ease.

In water, allowed the camera to float on the surface as it passed back and forth between my wife and I taking pictures of manatees and countless snorkeling our children. The float has a quick release mechanism to separate it from the camera when not needed. However, I just made it all the time, so do not lose it. Overall I would say that this would be ideal for anyone going on a cruise, the beach, or even your backyard pool. The manufacturer claims it is for the cameras of 7 oz or smaller so it's fine for most point and shoot. My entire experience with the product was a week of time diving and swimming smoothly

The combination of interlaced video, and relatively low bit rate also leads to poor resolution of detail in animated scenes, such as dripping water. Except for a slightly longer lead time, the leading e-PL3 the same as its more expensive siblings. 2012 canon EOS 5D Mark III review

Canon 5D Mark III review up on the smash success of the Canon 5D Mark  full frame professional camera designed to suit the needs of photographers and videographers across the industry. D800  36mp for $3000. 22mp for $3500. The AF, video, and other incremental upgrades are good enough. I upgraded from the mark ii to the mark iii and much difference in image quality.

The 5D Mark III is expected to ship for $3499 body-only, or with the 24-105mm f/4L lens (same as the 5D Mark II) for $4299.

The 5D was replaced by the Canon 5D Mark III review in the autumn of 2008, with the new model offering nearly double the resolution (21.1MP) a greatly increased ISO range and, for the first time on a full-frame DSLR, the ability to record Full HD video with an external microphone jack also offering stereo sound recording.

Fast forward nearly three and a half years, and we now have the successor to the 5D Mark II – the imaginatively named 5D Mark III. Effective resolution gets a boost too, albeit a fairly conservative one, up to a total of 22.3MP (compared to 21.1MP on the Mark II).

Another major upgrade the Mark III enjoys over its predecessor is its 14-bit DIGIC 5 image processor – the same engine that’s also used in the Canon 1D X. Employing an 8-channel readout and 14-bit A/D conversion, the Mark III is able to shoot at a maximum 6fps – up from 3.9fps on the Mark II.

In terms of high ISO performance, Canon claims that the Mark III offers a 2-stop advantage over the Mark II. In other words, ISO 1600 on the Mark III should produce the same image quality as ISO 400 on the Mark II. While the original 5D didn’t offer any video shooting capabilities the Mark II made history by becoming the first full-frame DSLR to offer 1080p Full HD video recording. Thanks to this (and also to the large number of premium-grade fast Canon lenses) the 5D Mark II has in recent years become the “go-to” model for serious DSLR video enthusiasts and professional-film production houses looking to shoot with a DSLR.

Storage isn’t a problem with the Mark III sporting dual SDHC/XC and UDMA compatible CF card slots.

Panasonic ZS15 black couples a 1/2.3-inch type, 12.1  megapixel effective megapixel filtered MOS RGB image sensor, and a Lexica RGB-filtered MOS image sensor, and a Lexica DC  branded 16x optical zoom lens. The Panasonic Lumix ZS15 black  can also capture 3D images in MPO (Multi Picture Object) format, by processing data from a number of sequentially captured images. As well as JPEG still images, the Panasonic ZS15 can capture movies at up to 1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution or below, using either AVCHD compression for high-def movies. All movies include monaural sound. The Panasonic ZS15 stores its images and movies on Secure Digital cards, including the higher-capacity SDHC and SDXC types.

Panasonic’s 2012 travel zooms, the Lumix ZS15 is no slouch. For a smooth $279, it packs a 16x zoom lens and a 12.1-megapixel MOS sensor—the same one that powers the FZ150 super zoom, the best fixed-lens camera we’ve ever tested (at time of writing, of course).

If the design looks familiar, that’s because it’s a re-jiggered version of last year’s ZS10: an almost identical body, a similar (if not the same) lens, and most of the same features. But with a proven sensor at its core, the ZS15 should prove to be a great camera, especially for the price.
