Nikon D7000 price

Nikon D7000 price

enthusiast-targeted competition for the Canon EOS 60D and 7D, Olympus E5, Pentax K-7 et al arrives in the impressively rigid shape and form of this 16.2 megapixel digital leviathan. As a nod toward semi pro status it also features twin media card slots so there's less chance of 'weekend warriors' who shoot weddings and the ilk in their spare time getting caught short of storage. We've already spotlighted the 16.2 million pixel effective resolution.

derived from a Nikon DX format (as opposed to full frame FX format) CMOS sensor. Some 39 auto focus points and the by now standard inclusion of AF tracking - here the grandly christened 3D tracking (following a subject not just across the frame but from back to front of frame also) likewise make an appearance, and very competent they are too, though when shooting our friend's celebrations with several people moving about the frame we were naturally inclined to switch to manual focusing and pick out our intended target ourselves.

Graced with a 16.2-megapixel CMOS sensor, the Nikon D7000 is the second consumer Nikon to exceed the 12-megapixel mark. Metering is also improved in the Nikon D7000, with a new 3D Color Matrix Metering sensor with more than twice the pixels of past sensors at 2,016 pixels instead of the 1,005 in Nikon's pro cameras.
100 percent viewfinder coverage promi

ses easier image framing as well, a major improvement in the Nikon D7000.
There's a whole lot more new about the Nikon D7000. Check out our Nikon D7000 Review below for more.

The Nikon D7000 digital camera began shipping from October 2010, with pricing set at about US$1,200 body-only. The Nikon D90 remains in the product line.
The Nikon D7000 looks to be a worthy evolution of the first digital SLR to shoot video.

Drive mode and Autofocus mode buttons are removed from the right of the monochrome LCD.

The D90's wide metal camera strap lugs are replaced with the smaller lugs that require D-rings to accept a cloth camera strap. This is more a liability than an improvement, as the Nikon D7000's D-rings make noise that is picked up by the camera's microphone while you shoot video. The D90's cloth-to-metal design makes more sense for a video-capable camera.

The D7000's Live view mode is now activated by a new selector lever on the camera's rear, which features a dedicated movie record button at its center.

Editing :

The Nikon D7000 retains the in-camera Raw file processing and image retouching capabilities of its predecessor, and adds a couple of new tricks.

The flash is fully compatible with the Nikon Creative Lighting System (CLS) and delivers well-balanced flash exposures thanks to the innovative I-TTL flash control. The built-in flash also offers Commander mode to trigger remote flash units when using Advanced Wireless Lighting.

Expect your images tack-sharp and accurately exposed, thanks to the camera’s 39-point AF and Scene Recognition System using a 2,016-pixel RGB matrix metering sensor. 0.052-second release time lag and approx. 6 frames-per-second shooting, you won’t miss a moment.

Standard ISO :

With improved pixel quality of the image sensor comes a wider ISO range from the DX-format  ISO 100 to 6400 has now become standard with the D7000, enabling you to handle a wider range of lighting situations: from the bright and sunny outdoors to low-lit evenings and interiors. Throughout the range, the D7000 delivers sharp images with minimized color noise. Quality high-ISO performance can also enhance a lot for movie shooting, allowing you to capture the mood of a scene using only available light.

In addition to smooth-moving images, the camera can compensate for distortion and other image-degrading problems.
Picture Control:

You can transform the look of an image simply by selecting from the camera’s Picture Control menu.
The dedicated battery pack MB-D11 ensures longer battery power. Experience stunning images with sharp resolution and smooth tonal gradation, thanks to the 16-megapixel DX-format CMOS image sensor and a powerful EXPEED 2 image processing engine.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF3 with 3-Inch Touchscreen

Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF3

The Panasonic Lummox DMC-GF3 ($599.99 direct with 14-42mm kit lens) is the smallest camera in the Panasonic Micro Four Thirds family, taking many of its design cues from point-and-shoot models. The 12-megapixel camera doesn't do as well in low light as some other interchangeable lens cameras, like our Editors' Choice Sony Alpha NEX-C3 ($649.95, 4.5 stars), and its kit lens is a little larger than the one bundled with the Olympus PEN E-PM1 ($499.99, 4 stars). Despite having a larger image sensor, the camera itself is only slightly larger than the 2.4-by-4.2-by-1.2 inch, 8.3-ounce Nikon J1 ($649.95, 3.5 stars). Olympus also includes a 14-42mm lens with its Micro Four Thirds cameras, but that lens features a collapsing design that helps to cut down on its size. The GF3 is also available in a kit with that lens for $699.99.

A 3-inch, 460k-dot, touch-screen LCD dominates the rear of the camera. You can use these controls to adjust camera functions, or interact directly via its touch screen. Performance
The GF3 is a rather speedy camera. It does compare very favorably to the smallest interchangeable lens camera on the market, the Pen tax Q ($799.95, 3 stars). I used Iratest to test the sharpness and noise in images captured by the camera. The corresponding 14-42mm lens that is included with the Olympus E-PM1 is much sharper at 14mm f/3.5—it records 2,186 lines.

At 25mm the lens sharpens up a bit, scoring 1,736 lines at f/4.6 and 1,935 lines at f/5.6. At the maximum zoom setting, 42mm, the lens softened a bit, which is typical for a zoom lens. The E-PM1 lens also softened as it zoomed, dipping to 1,738 lines at 28mm and 1,508 lines at 42mm.
In terms of image noise, the camera was rather disappointing. Our Editors' Choice, the Sony Alpha NEX-C3, offers the best high-ISO performance in a compact camera—it keeps noise under 1.5 percent through ISO 6400.

The Panasonic GF3 is a nice take on the Micro Four Thirds concept—a compact camera system built around a large sensor and interchangeable lenses.

As a result, there's a learning curve to using the GF3, but for those seeking a very small compact system camera, the Lummox GF3 has a lot to offer in a very small body.
Compared to the GF2, the GF3 is smaller in width and height, but not thickness. The Panasonic GF3 measures 4.2 x 2.6 x 1.3 inches (108 x 67 x 33mm), versus 4.4 x 2.7 x 1.3 inches (113 x 68 x 33mm) on the GF2, and weight is also reduced to 9.3 ounces (264g), from the GF2's 11.3 ounces (319g). Put another way, the GF3 is 16.7 percent smaller and 16.2 percent lighter than the GF2, according to Panasonic.

While the GF2 had a total of 11 control buttons (not counting the flash pop-up button), the GF3 reduces the count to 10: Intelligent Auto, Shutter, Record, Playback, EV, White Balance, AF-point, Drive, Menu/Set, and Quick Menu/Function (the thumb-operated rear dial also served as a button on the GF2). Panasonic GF3 size comparisons

Panasonic Lumix DMC-GF3 Overview

The Panasonic GF3 features a 12.1 megapixel Micro Four Thirds-format image sensor whose output is handled by a Venus Engine FHD image processor. Base sensitivity for the GF3's imager is ISO 160 equivalent, while maximum sensitivity is unchanged from that of the GF2, at ISO 6,400 equivalent.
Panasonic rates the GF3 as capable of shooting some 3.8 frames per second, some 19% faster than the company-supplied 3.2 fps figure for the GF2. In our own lab testing, the GF3 proved capable of 3.5 fps in High Speed mode. Touch-panel display. With no accessory port on the GF3's body, all interaction is handled through its 3.0-inch touch panel LCD display.

which appears to be unchanged from that featured in the GF2. Focusing. Like the GF2 before it, the GF3 offers up a 23-point TTL contrast detection auto focusing system, as well as an autofocus assist lamp that helps when focusing in low ambient lighting conditions. As well as multi-point focusing, the GF3 also provides single, pinpoint, tracking, and face detection autofocus modes. Of course, you can also focus manually, and the GF3 offers a manual focus assist zoom that enlarges the display around the focus point, allowing precise focus tuning. The Lummox GF3 offers still image shutter speeds ranging from 1/4,000 to 60 seconds. Images are metered with the Live MOS image sensor, using a 144-segment multi-pattern metering system, and the GF3 also provides both center-weighted and spot metering modes.

Mode Access :

The DMC-GF3 provides a traditional DSLR-like experience without the need for complicated external mode dials, yet provides intuitive and quick access to common modes like Program, Shutter and Aperture Priority, Manual via a touch-enabled LCD that operates much like a smart phone. Additional quick access touch-enabled settings include three Customizable Modes that get you to your favorite camera setup quickly, multiple Scene Modes and the new LUMIX Creative Control Mode. The DMC-GF3 provides a dedicated video button that can be used to switch to video capture quickly without changing modes.

3D Capture :

LUMIX G Series Compact System Cameras utilize the Micro Four Thirds (MFT) System lens mount. When connected to the DMC-GF3, ultra fast focusing and auto subject track AF can be achieved.

Video Capture :

The LUMIX DMC-GF3 also shoots 1080/60i High Definition video using the AVCHD format (sensor output 30 fps). New near silent focusing features offered in several LUMIX Micro Four Thirds lenses help keep lens noise at bay, while the touch-enabled LCD allows you to automatically keep active subjects in focus with touch-enabled subject AF Tracking.

Faster :

The DMC-GF3 now offers the new LUMIX Light Speed Auto Focus technology developed for the highly regarded GH2.

Manual control over focus is available in the DMC-GF3 and now features a quick 4x magnification feature. This handy feature is available from both the MF Assist (Manual Focus) and AF + MF focus modes.

The DMC-GF3 now offers a large LCD touch-focus area, enabling touch-focus control from any part of the image as seen on the LCD. Once set, the DMC-GF3 will use this fine-tuned focus point to produce a sharp, detailed image.

Intelligent Auto :

The DMC-GF3’s image quality comes from a large DSLR-sized 12.1-megapixel sensor and newly advanced image processing technologies.

Nikon D5100 full specs

Nikon D5100

The Nikon D5100 full specs 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 VR kit lens that Nikon supplied feels fairly well-balanced on the Nikon D5100 and it fits into place with a reassuring mechanical click. Nikon bodies don't offer any form of in-camera image stabilization, unlike similar models from Sony, Pentad and Olympus, so the affordable 18-55mm VR lens is a good starting point if you don't already have any Nikon lenses.

The shutter release action on the Nikon D5100 is surprisingly quiet, with a dampened mirror slap that makes this DSLR actually quieter than some rangefinder cameras. We'd prefer it to be on the rear of the camera and also to incorporate the Movie record button, in keeping with the D3100/D7000 models.

Press the Live switch and the mirror flips up, the shutter opens and the rear screen displays the scene as seen through the lens. Contrast-detect auto-focus (CDAF) is also available and, while slow, it tends to be accurate.

Live View must also be entered to shoot movies. After pressing the live button and optionally presetting the aperture and focus, you can start recording video by pressing the new Movie Record button on top of the camera next to the shutter release. The camera records full high-definition, wide-screen video in 1920x1280 pixel resolution, at a frame rate of 25fps or 24fps, in AVI format using the motion JPEG codec. Although the D5100 can automatically focus during video recording, it's just not fast enough to warrant regular use or to rival cameras like the Panasonic Lummox GH1/2.

The Nikon D5100's 11 auto-focus points are permanently marked on the focusing screen, whereas the compositional grid lines can be called up via a menu option. In low light, the AF sensors are helped by an AF assist lamp located on the front plate of the camera.

The Nikon D5100 only has one control wheel and there are no dedicated buttons for controlling ISO sensitivity, white balance, metering or AF mode. For the images that you've already captured, the Nikon D5100 offers a broad range of retouching tools, including post-capture D-lighting (useful if you forgot to turn on Active D-lighting before capture), red-eye correction,

trimming, monochrome conversion, different filter effects, color adjustments, image resizing, image overlay, in-camera raw processing, quick auto retouching, straightening of crooked pictures, lens distortion correction, fisheye, color outline, color sketch, selective color, miniature effect, and perspective control.

photo quality with a good noise profile, a streamlined shooting design for both photo and video, and a broad, practical feature set contribute to the Nikon D5100's strengths.

Despite the higher-resolution sensor, the D5100 delivers visibly better image quality at all ISO sensitivities than

Unlike the earlier camera's bottom-swivel display, the side-swivel is a versatile design that allows the live view feed to be seen when framing self-portraits.
The  D5100 is also Nikon's first SLR to include in-camera high dynamic range (HDR) imaging capability. Nikon D5100 User Report.

Unlike the T3i, the Nikon D5100 is smaller than its predecessor, about the same width and thickness, but noticeably shorter, which makes a nice, tight package, reminiscent of the Nikon D40, one of our favorite digital SLRs. Measuring 5.0 x 3.8 x 3.1 inches (127 x 97 x 79mm), the Nikon D5100 is larger than the D3100's 4.9 x 3.8 x 2.9 inches (125 x 97 x 74mm), and smaller than the D5000's 5.0 x 4.1 x 3.1 inches (127 x 104 x 80mm). The Nikon D5100's grip is made for smaller hands, as my medium hands are generally able to adjust to almost any size grip.

Samsung Multiview MV800 review

Samsung Multiview MV800 answer to the current craze of gussying up photos post-click is that the  MV800, a compact, digital point-and-shoot camera. The Funny Face feature is another fun choice that lets users distort and warp face expression to realize caricature-like results. Like most cameras within the compact, point-and-shoot class, the MV800 performs poorly in low-light things. Going while not a flash ends up in noisy, grainy shots, whereas using the flash ends up in harshly lit photos. Luckily, if you persist with outside and (well-lit) indoor shots, you will be fine.

The MultiView MV800 will an excellent job capturing true-to-life colours and details. Multitier refers to the camera's special kind issue. It swings out from behind the camera body to one hundred eighty degrees.

Unfortunately, this looks to be to a small degree of a distinct segment feature, largely phased out of point-and-shoot cameras. The bit screen is extremely attentive to touches and swipes, comparable in my expertise to phone bit screens. the most menu has no but 5 screens of choices, together with numerous photo and video shooting modes, scene choices Samsung thoughtfully created this customizable so you'll place the choices you employ most on the primary screen.

Screen:

Although the screen solely flips upward one hundred eighty degrees (it isn't totally articulating like a number of the opposite flip-screen cameras I've had), the camera itself is little and handy enough to rotate the body of it to realize any viewing angle you wish. Picture/Video Quality: i am solely an amateur photographer, however i'm terribly pleased with the image quality. Panoramic Photos: simply the most effective panoramic mode I've had on a camera. 3D image capability: i used to be underwhelmed with this.

For that reason, I've continually resented cameras that cause you to flip a switch so as to change between still photo and video mode, which might frequently lead to me accidentally taking a video after I wished a photograph, or vice verse. Samsung partially addresses this by adding a touch-screen camera mode. That camera mode, I will take a photograph by pressing the shutter button, or take a video by biting the  button on the touch screen. Otherwise, to change between photo and video modes, you have got to access the most menu.

I've heard from different homeowners of Samsung cameras that this is often a typical downside. In summary, i think this is often a sweet, intelligent very little camera that's simply crammed options. i believe it'd be laborious to seek out a camera with a more robust balance of size, image quality, and features’ like this camera a lot! it's extremely trendy and that i love how the LCD screen flips to require self footage. I set it to good Auto image mode which did not facilitate to create footage look too clear.

The Samsung MV800 Multitier is that the latest addition to the company's self-portrait oriented compact camera vary, in conjunction with the prevailing 2View models. The 2View vary did this in an exceedingly slightly clunky means by having a second screen on the front of the camera whereas the MV800 will things slightly totally different, using one screen that normally faces rearwards however will flip all the high till it will face the front.

cameras, however is cheaper to supply and additional compact.
Normal operation of the camera is straightforward enough with simply an influence button, shutter button and zoom management on the highest edge and 2 more buttons on the rear – simply power on, purpose and click on. The camera's solid build and textured end offers you an honest purchase, and appears smart too.

Nikon D3200 red

Nikon D3200

the D3200 red also offers a range of fully automatic Scene modes and an Automatic mode for straight shoot shooting to record images as lossless Raw image files or as compressed JPEGs with a range of resolution and aspect settings available.Autofocus is taken care of via Nikon’s own Multi-CAM 1000 autofocus module, which offers , including one centrally located Metering is handled via a 420-pixel RGB sensor using Nikon’s 3D Colour Matrix Metering II module.

We've prepared a samples gallery using the D3200 - Nikon's latest entry-level DSLR. The last nine images are , using a variety of post-capture filter options.
Nikon D3200

There are 36 images in this samples gallery. the image was shot at 12,800 on a sub $1,000 camera. at that price I am hoping I can print an 11 x 17 image shot at 3200. From a Canon boy - for an entry level camera with a kit lens these images are very good. Where to next for Nikon. Will Sony soon have a 30MP DX sensor that Nikon will use in the D300s replacement? Can't see the point at all in an entry level camera. Top lens tests on this camera needed now ... Please!!

For an entry slur the JPG images, even the high ISO, look pretty good to me. it´s simple, Sony (or other Nikon sensor sources) doesn’t make a low MP cheap sensor anymore, and there is nothing wrong with those high MP sensors Nikon is using nowadays, it´s better in IQ -low and high is and DR than any of the previous Nikon entry level sensors, so I don’t see an specially if you print at the same size as with the previous 12 MP cams Nikon had, ibex you´ll see much better quality prints.

You tell me: in which Sony camera can we find D3(D700), D3s, D800 sensors? These are clearly Nikon sensors, maybe they are made in Sony factories, but its Nikon design and product. Do you think all the parts that goes in Nikon cameras but sensor are made in Nikon plants? It's mostly the other way around: sensor manufacturers offer their wares and Nikon picks whatever suits them best.

Sony makes the sensors and offers them to third parties, which add their own tweaks and image processors (Speed for Nikon vs. Exmore for Sony).
Nikon and Pentad are able to buy the sensor. It doesn’t matter if the sensors Nikon is putting in cameras are Sony didn’t make a random sensor and then Nikon put in camera, it’s the other way around, Nikon designed sensor, and some factory (doesn’t really matter which) made it, by Nikon design.
I still don’t get why are people so possessed by where Nikon sensors are made (those are Nikon sensors).

Nikon did not hand Sony the design and just use Sony as the fib. It's Sony's own design that was mildly tweaked by Nikon. Sony have far more skill in digital sensor design and development than Nikon does.

A camera with the resolution of many top pro cameras, a hi-ISO to match many top cameras, a compact body enabling the use of all pro Nikon lenses, and all these for $700 with zoom lens.

Canon PowerShot G12 review

Canon PowerShot G12

The Powers hot G12 is that the initial G-series model to feature Canon’s HS System – a strong combination of a high-sensitivity ten.0 Megapixel CCD sensor and high-performance DIGIC four processor designed to supply outstanding image quality in all lighting conditions, as well as low lightweight.

Counteracting camera shake and enabling photographers to capture shots in darker conditions, the Powers hot G12’s optical Image Stabilizer permits shooting at shutter speeds approximately 4-stops slower than would be otherwise necessary to realize a pointy shot. conjointly included within the Powers hot G12 is Canon’s Hybrid IS technology to extend the effectiveness of the optical Image Stabilizer when shooting macro subjects. The Powers hot G12 will focus as shut as 1cm to a theme, and therefore the slightest lateral movement of the photographer will negatively have an effect on image quality, creating it troublesome to capture blur-free shots while not the help of a tripod. Hybrid IS counteracts unintentional shift and angular movement – 2 types of camera shake that become significantly pronounced as image magnification will increase.

Flexible shooting

Users will either priorities the Front Dial or the rear Multi-Control Dial because the main method of controlling the camera, or use a mix of each. for instance, the Front Dial are often set to manage aperture in AV mode whereas the Multi-Control Dial controls white balance or shooting facet ratio, or it are often used independently, with the rear Multi-Control Dial disabled to stop accidental changes to settings.

For advanced amateurs and professionals, the Powers hot G12 conjointly shoots uncompressed RAW pictures and includes Canon’s Digital Photo skilled (DPP) software, providing the flexibility to edit pictures when capture. Sharing identical post-editing surroundings because the EOS system, the Powers hot G12 fits seamlessly into a photographer’s existing workflow.

Electronic level and Multi-Aspect shooting

Using info from the camera’s acceleration sensor, an on-screen indicator permits users to examine if the camera is level, operating in either horizontal or vertical orientations to confirm level shots of portrait or landscape scenes. Multi-Aspect shooting in formats conjointly permits photographers to shoot in step with their subject and therefore the supposed use of the image, enabling them to settle on that composition and result they need to capture because the image is taken and removing the necessity to post-process.

Like the 430EX II, the 320EX can be used on one of four transmission channels. Slave mode is activated by merely flicking a switch.

If Canon produce a wider range of firmware updates, this could prove an essential piece of equipment.

Nikon 1 SB-N5 Speedlight review

Nikon 1 SB-N5 Speedlight

Nikon 1 SB-N5 Speedlight Angle the  down, left or right and bounce light to precise advantage. The flash  double as a continuous light source illuminating for six seconds during both Motion Snapshot and Smart Photo Selector modes. Nikon 1 SB-N5 Speedlight Extra batteries not required—the camera powers the SB-N5 Speedlight.A very  flash that is made specifically for the Nikon 1 SB-N5 Speedlight as the Nikon 1 J1 has its own pop up built .

It doesn't require batteries, drawing it's power from the camera battery. The head swivels up to vertical and to either side to bounce the flash either from the ceiling or walls or cards on either side. It is pretty powerful for it size and have been delighted to see some of my night time----indoor shots which normally look terrible look as bright and as softly light as if it were day light outside.

It seems  pretty friendly on the battery life as well, I haven't noticed a significant drop in battery life with the flash as compared to without (I suppose that may change as the battery ages).

This Nikon 1 SB-N5 Speed light for V1 Camera is designed for use with the Nikon V1 CX format mirror-less camera. Exposure modes Fill Flash, Front- and Rear-Curtain sync and slow-sync and flash compensation.

Flash duration is 1/4000 second at full power. A capture illuminator lights for six seconds using Smart Photo Selector and Motion Snapshot modes. Throw Light on Your World .

Angle the flash up, down, left or right and bounce light to precise . Extra batteries not required-the  camera powers the SB-N5 Speed light.

Fujifilm EF-20 Shoe Mount Flash review

Fujifilm EF-20 Shoe Mount Flash

TheFujifilm EF-20 Shoe Mount Flash is an efficient additional lighting equipment that comes with easily operable controls.  This camera Fujifilm EF-20 Shoe Mount Flash shoe mount flash can be operated from 0 degree Celsius to 40 degree Celsius.

This digital camera flash can produce 200 flashes with alkaline batteries and 280 flashes with Nigh batteries

The built-in flash of my Fujifilm FinePix HS25EXR  is great but weak. With the guide number 20, TTL functions + EV adjustment, retractable wide panel, bounce lighting by turning the flash up to 90° it offers the same plus a lot more than the built-in flash.
Great.

Anyway, this sole negative point cannot disturb my fun with this flash. my 2 most beautiful cameras. come on Fuji lets make this flash pretty. I’ll pay extra for a nice looking flash. I think the vain crowd like me that buy these beautiful cameras need a beautiful flash. I want a new flash from Fuji with the looks of the xpro1 flash with the function of this flash.

if your looking for function get this flash no question. cut it makes Fuji look cheap.

camera digital applied TTL flash technology, that’s why both flashguns are TTL Flash.  TTL Flash = Through-the-lens .

Canon Speedlite 270EX Flash Reviews

Canon Speedlite 270EX Flash

The Canon Speedlite 270EX Flash  is a new portable hotshoe flash unit, introduced in early 2009 with the EOS 500D/Rebel T1i/Kiss X3 digital EOS SLR camera. previously all Canon flash units were made in Japan or Korea

Flash head movements :

Unlike the Canon Speedlite 270EX Flash  has a tilting head, though it still lacks swivel. The camera knows the flash zoom position too since it’s actually displayed on the Speedlite control menu screen - at least on those camera bodies which can control recent Speedlites in this way. Effectively the 270EX represents a transition from physical switches on Speedlites to digital camera-based control. Second, support for these extra features is limited to EOS digital cameras from the EOS 40D onwards

Automatic menu control :

The EOS 450D, EOS 1000D, EOS 40D, EOS 50D, EOS 1D Mk III, EOS 1Ds Mk III, EOS 500D and EOS 5D Mk II all have this ability. The camera’s menu system lets you enable the following functions on the 270EX.

Autofocus assist :

Most smaller Speedlites with red AF lights have limited single AF point coverage. Flash units which can cover the autofocus points of cameras with multiple points generally have large lenses and plastic cover plates. You cannot enable AF assist on this unit if you’re using a camera which lacks external Speedlite control. The flash unit cannot work with older film-based cameras which lack E-TTL. Up until now all EX flash units have been fully compatible with all EOS cameras made since 1986. The 270EX requires a type A film camera that’s got E-TTL support, or any post D30 digital camera.

Power :

Like all tiny flash units, the 270EX can’t produce a lot of light. There are really two markets for tiny flash units. In short, the 270EX is a relatively affordable, lightweight flash unit for beginning users who own recent model digital EOS cameras. It isn’t great for teaching the basics of off-camera flash, but is ideal for portable on-camera use.

Bounce flash head :

A bounce head allows the Speedlite 270EX II’s flash output to be bounced off the ceiling for soft, shadowless lighting.

Easy to use off-camera flash :

The Speedlite 270EX II can be triggered remotely by a compatible camera or Speedlite flash and is as easy to use in off-camera mode as it is in the hotshoe, opening up countless creative lighting opportunities.

The Canon Speedlite 270EX Flash adds power and flexibility for enhanced flash photography anywhere. An indispensable complement to your Canon camera, Speedlite 270EX is a perfect extension of your photographic genius.

The camera uses 4x AA batteries and is provided with 4 standard alkaline batteries. We were take over 380 shots, although using high power rechargeable batteries should give better battery life. Sony A560 14.2 Megapixels

Sony A560 14.2 Megapixels

Crutchfield is offering a slick bundle offer, in addition to some great savings on this Powerful Sony Alpha DSLR Camera! Noise reduction is a standard for all photos taken, as is the ability to snap into action with blazing fast shutter speeds and the ability to snap photos at 7 frames per second right when you need to.

Sony A560 14.2 Megapixels It takes great pictures and has enough manual controls for the serious hobbyist. Controlling noise under low light is second to none. Sony did put a great deal into controlling noise level under low light. Even if the sun is behind your subject, Sony's DRO kicks in perfectly to give your subject's face a perfect exposure without fill flash. Panoramic shots is also the best.

The Sony A560 14.2 Megapixels which simply cropped the image when shooting at lower resolutions, has been abandoned in favor of a new dedicated Movie button.
Sony has also made some useful tweaks to the A560's body design. The Drive Mode and ISO buttons have both been moved nearer to the Shutter release button, making them easier to reach without having to change your grip on the camera. Sweep Panorama has appeared in Sony's Cyber-shot and NEX-series cameras previously, and is now making its debut in an Alpha DSLR. The function, which offers 2D and 3D modes.

automatically captures numerous images as the A560 is panned across the scene, and then stitches the result in-camera to create a single seamless image.

The AF550's alternative MF Check LV mode, which raises the mirror and exposes the imaging sensor like the live view modes on most other DSLRs, has been renamed and greatly improved. Like that of the A550, the Sony A560's grip is a little odd. The Alpha a550's MF Check LV button, which puts the camera in Live View mode from the main imaging sensor, has been renamed Focus Check LV for the Sony A560.

Also visible is the reworked Mode dial, which adds a Sweep Panorama position, and consolidates all of the Scene modes into a single shared position. This allows the movie function to be accessed in any operating mode, although ISO sensitivity, shutter speed and aperture for movie shooting remain under automatic control regardless of the mode currently selected. As in the A550, the  A560's Function menu, allowing quick settings changes for common exposure variables. A small sensor on the lower right of the Sony A560's LCD can be set to dim or brighten the LCD's backlight automatically when needed.

Image Sensor : At the heart of the Sony A560 is a Sony Exmore APS HD CMOS image sensor with dimensions of 23.4 x 15.6mm, roughly equivalent to a frame of APS-C film.

The Sony A560's sensor has an effective resolution of 14.2 megapixels, and yields 3:2 aspect ratio images with dimensions of up to 4,592 x 3,056 pixels. In addition to two lower-resolution 3:2 modes of 3,344 x 2,224 and 2,288 x 1,520 pixels, the Sony A560 offers three modes that crop the sensor's output to a 16:9 aspect ratio, suitable for viewing on wide-screen HDTVs. The Sony A560's 16:9 image modes are 4,592 x 2,576, 3,344 x 1,872, and 2,288 x 1,280 pixels respectively.

The imager is mounted on a movable platter, allowing for Sony's Steady Shot INSIDE image stabilization with all compatible lenses. Output from the image sensor is handled by Sony's proprietary BIONZ image processor.

Multi-Frame NR : The Sony A560 also includes a new Multi-frame NR function, which captures six images in sequence, and then combines them in-camera into a single image with reduced noise levels. The function is similar to Sony's Handheld Twilight mode -- which the A560 also offers, but differs in allowing the desired ISO sensitivity to be selected manually, so it can function even at lower sensitivities.

Autofocus : The Sony Alpha A560 offers an overhauled TTL phase detection auto focusing system, which now provides 15 AF points, six more than in the A550. Thanks to a secondary image sensor in the A560's prism assembly, Sony is able to continue using the standard phase-detection AF system while displaying a Live View image on the camera's LCD display.

For example : in Quick AF Live View mode, the Sony A560 is able to offer face detection when focusing with the phase-detection sensor. The Sony A560's face detection system also allows a Smile Shutter function, which can automatically trigger the camera's shutter immediately when your subject smiles. The animation at right, courtesy of Sony Electronics, is from our A550 review.

Focus Check LV : Alternatively, the Sony A560's Live View can function in Focus Check live view mode, accessed via a dedicated button on the camera's top panel. Unlike the equivalent mode in the A550, either contrast detection or phase detection auto focusing is now possible in this mode, as well as manual focusing. The autofocus mode is locked to single whenever Focus Check live view is active.
Movies. Sony has provided three choices for movie resolution, recorded in one of two formats.

Like many video-capable DSLRs, the Sony A560 provides no direct manual control over video exposure, with the ISO sensitivity, shutter speed and aperture all selected automatically, regardless of the operating mode currently selected on the Mode dial.

Modes : The Sony A560 includes Auto, Program, Aperture- and Shutter-priority, and Manual shooting modes plus Sweep Panorama, Scene, and Flash Off modes. The Sweep Panorama mode is has appeared in Sony's Cyber-shot and NEX-series cameras previously, and is now making its debut in an Alpha DSLR.

Previously seen in Sony's NEX and Cyber-shot series cameras, the Hand-held Twilight mode captures multiple shots at high sensitivity, and then combines them in-camera to create a single image with reduced blur from camera shake. Available shutter speeds from the Sony A560's electronically controlled, vertical travel focal plane shutter range from 1/4,000 to 30 seconds, plus a bulb mode, and flash sync is available at 1/160 second.

The Sony A560 uses a 40-segment honeycomb-patterned SPC sensor to determine exposures in all modes except for Quick AF Live View and Focus Check Live View modes, where the secondary image sensor can be used to provide for more accurate 1,200-zone evaluative metering.

Metering modes available in the Sony A560 include Multi-segment, Center-weighted, and Spot. 2.0 EV of exposure compensation is available in 1/3 EV steps, and the Sony A560 also allows for three-shot bracketed exposures in 0.3 or 0.7 EV steps.

The Sony A560 retains Sony's excellent menu system largely unchanged, except for the addition of two new tabs, covering storage and clock settings, respectively. The Sony A560 also retains the A550's Function menu, with simple icons that line the screen left and right. The A560's Playback mode adopts the newer design from Sony's NEX-series single-lens direct view cameras, which is peculiar in that you can't review both images and videos at the same time. To see movies, you have to switch to Movie mode and shoot a quick movie.

Sony's user-friendly Help Guide Display is active by default, and shows a brief explanation as the Mode dial is turned, or when the active menu selection is changed.

Flash : The Sony A560's built-in popup flash has a guide number of 12 meters at ISO 100, and 18mm coverage. Flash modes include Auto, Fill, Slow-sync, and Rear-sync, and 2.0 EV of flash exposure compensation is available in 0.3 EV steps.
Auto HDR. Like the A550 before it, the Sony A560 includes an unusual HDR mode. Animation courtesy of Sony Electronics USA.

Sony's HDR mode captures two shots with anywhere from 1 to 6 EV between the exposures, set in 1 EV increments -- double the overall range of the A550, but with half the granularity, plus a third image at nominal exposure.

An Auto HDR mode selects the appropriate range and step size automatically, depending on the range of brightness detected within the scene. The Sony A560 also includes Sony's optional D-Range Optimizer function, which works from a single shot and hence isn't limited to static subjects. The Sony A560's Creative Style function offers six pre-defined creative image styles, which adjust image tonality, saturation, and contrast. Continuous shooting.

A Speed Priority burst mode locks exposure and focus from the first frame, which allows an impressive seven frames per second when using either the viewfinder or Live View mode.

Hardest hit is the Large / Standard JPEG mode, where burst depth is slashed from 116 images to just 47. Interestingly, when shooting in  mode, burst depth is unchanged at seven frames.

The Sony A560 includes an HDMI Type-C mini connector which allows display of images on high-definition displays (though no cable is included), as well as USB 2.0 High-Speed computer connectivity. Power.

Both cameras were focusing soft when using phase detection autofocus at wide-angle. I confirmed by switching to contrast detect autofocus during focus check live view with each camera and got sharper results.
Handling. Kudos, Sony. Top left of the A560, the Mode dial improvements also help handling.

The Sony A560's grip is mid-sized with a slight bias towards smaller hands.
Optical Viewfinder. If you set the Sony A560 to Spot or Local auto focusing, the center or autofocus point you select will light up red when focus is achieved.
Autofocus. Sony's A560 has a peppy and eager autofocus system.

Focus Check Live View : This mode replaces Manual Focus Check Live view and now allows two focusing options: Contrast-detect autofocus with SAM and SSM branded lenses (that includes third party makers such as Sigma and Tampon), and phase-detection autofocus.

Getting accurate exposure, framing, and focus is quite easy with the A560's layout. Macro shooting is a blast in this mode. HD Video. The Alpha A560 is Sony's first traditional DSLR to have full HD video capture.
